Horton Plaza in the Gaslamp district in the downtown area of San Diego is a five-level outdoor shopping mall redeveloped from a public transit center in the mid-1980s. The building itself is pretty remarkable with bright colors, unique architectural style, odd spatial rhythms and urban chic. You can't say whether there is a similar architecture in the United State, but it does resemble a villa in Italy.

This mall receives streams of people everyday. A pretty large percentage of shoppers are downtown workers who are attracted to spend there noontime here by the numerous shops and eateries. And tourists from other places also take up a large portion - this mall is always recommended to them as a must visit spot in San Diego.

When it comes to shopping, you will be surprised to find that this seemingly ordinary mall should house such a wide variety of household stores and shops. There is Macy's, a popular chained department store, Levi's Store, which sells the best jeans throughout the world, Louis Vuitton, the seller of the best leather items and Optometric Expression, the exact shop for the famously designer eyewear. Maybe you didn't expect that this should be kind of one-stop shopping center, where you can get access to nearly every type of goods you want.
